The American Katie Ledecky continues to make an impression in view of the Tokyo Games, with another victory in the Pro Swim Series, in 1,500 m freestyle this time, of which she set the time of the year in 15: 40.55, Sunday at Mission Viejo in California.

The five-time American Olympic champion signed the fourteenth time in history over the distance, in a final held in the morning as will be those of the J0s (July 23-August 8).

In Tokyo, she will try to win the first Olympic gold medal over 1,500 m for women, a new event on the program.

The 24-year-old swimmer had already set the world's best 200m performance in 2021 on Friday in 1: 54.40.

And on Saturday, she won the 400 freestyle in 3: 59.25, her fastest since August 2018 and the 20th of her career under the 4-minute mark.

"I think I swam pretty well. I felt I was strong throughout the competition. You never feel good at the end usually," she congratulated herself, adding to have "l 'impression that the (Olympic) preparation is going very well ".

Ledecky finished his weekend finishing second in the 100m freestyle (54.22) won by Abbey Weitzel (53.68).

Nathan Adrian, Olympic gold medalist in the 100 freestyle in 2012, won the race (48.74) ahead of the German Eric Friese (49.05).

A winning return for the one who had to undergo treatment for testicular cancer in 2019.

Although qualified, Caeleb Dressel opted out of this final and the 200m medley final, which world record holder Ryan Lochte also waived.

Finally, Ryan Murphy, reigning Olympic gold medalist in the 100m and 200m backstroke, achieved a double over these distances.
