Bissendorf (dpa / lni) - Two men attacked, tied up and robbed a couple in Bissendorf near Hanover in their house.

As the police announced on Sunday, the two perpetrators rang the doorbell on the pretext of delivering a package at the door.

They attacked and overpowered the 81-year-old resident and his 77-year-old wife and tied the couple.

They then locked up the seniors and searched the house for valuables.

They stole jewelry and cash and fled undetected.

The couple was able to free each other and alerted the police.

A first manhunt was unsuccessful.

The two seniors were slightly injured in the attack on Friday evening and were taken to hospital for treatment.

The police have started the investigation and are looking for witnesses.
