The Saudi Press Agency - quoting the Ministry of Defense - reported that 3 of the soldiers were executed after being convicted of committing the crime of high treason.
The ministry confirmed in a statement that the three soldiers cooperated with the enemy in a way that violates the kingdom's existence and its military interests.

The statement added, "By referring them to the competent court and providing all the judicial guarantees guaranteed to them, what was attributed to them was proven, which made them dissolved from this great trust entrusted to them before the harm of their action exceeded the nation and its security."
He explained that the death sentences were carried out today, Saturday, at the Southern District Command, after they were found guilty of what was assigned to them and they were sentenced to murder in accordance with the legal and regulatory requirements, and the verification and approval procedures of the verdict were fulfilled.
