The mayor of Coatréven, a small rural town located near Lannion (Côtes-d'Armor), was tried Thursday before the Saint-Brieuc correctional court to see a municipal councilor sexually assaulted, reports

Le Télégramme

.

The facts date back to May 20, 2019. That day, the mayor had met the city councilor in front of the town hall and their discussion continued under a bus shelter.

This is where the city councilor would have caressed the belly and breasts of the city councilor.

The latter had lodged a complaint the same day with the gendarmerie.

Tried for these facts nearly two years later, the Breton mayor was sentenced by the court to six months suspended prison sentence.

He was also registered in the national file of perpetrators of sexual offenses.

He will also have to pay 2,000 euros to the victim for moral damage, specifies the weekly
