The ecologist Yannick Jadot had launched, at the end of March 2021, a call to organize a meeting of all the leaders of the left to try to build the gathering for 2022. His invitation was accepted and the meeting will take place on the 17th April, but that does not mean that the union is on the move.

About twenty left-wing officials responded, including Anne Hidalgo, Olivier Faure, Fabien Roussel, Julien Bayou.

Enough to give credibility to Yannick Jadot's initiative, but Jean-Luc Mélenchon - him - expressed his mistrust by declaring: "

It's a tap dance to say more united than me you die

 ".

No question for the rebellious who could be represented by his lieutenant, Adrien Quatennens, to be "

instrumentalized

 ".

Because the stated objective of this meeting is to try to lay the foundations for a rally for the 2022 election for which Jean-Luc Mélenchon is already a candidate.

And Yannick Jadot prepositioned to be it;

when Anne Hidalgo seems to think about it.

It is difficult, under these conditions, not to apprehend this initiative according to the strategies of each other.

The fact remains that the multiplication of candidatures in 2022 is the main danger for the left which has recently shown how much it was divided, for example, on the subject of single-sex meetings organized by the student union Unef.

Showing that lefts are “reconcilable” remains a challenge.

Bringing them together raises the question of who is behind?
