Leipzig / Bautzen (dpa / sn) - The Higher Administrative Court (OVG) has confirmed the city of Leipzig's ban on a demonstration planned for Saturday afternoon by opponents of the corona protective measures.

The judges agreed with the view already expressed by the administrative court that “the registered meeting poses unacceptable dangers for meeting participants, police officers and passers-by, which can only be avoided by prohibiting it”.

So it said in the statement from the court on Saturday.

The participants of a comparable previous meeting would not have shown themselves willing to follow the regulations.

The applicant himself had "shown that he was neither willing nor able to limit the meeting to a certain number of participants."

With a view to the legitimate interests of many people in the right to life and physical integrity, the restriction of the fundamental right to freedom of assembly must be accepted.
