Bremen / Bremerhaven (dpa / lni) - A Bremerhaven citizen successfully defended himself against the exit restrictions in his hometown in the Corona crisis at the administrative court in Bremen.

In the decision published on Saturday, the Bremen Administrative Court declared the restrictions to be partly unlawful.

The decision only affects the complaining citizen, who is also a member of the city council.

The decision had no effect on other citizens, the court found.

In particular, the 5th Chamber criticized the period of 20 days.

The exit restriction was ordered on March 29th and is expected to end on April 18th.

From the point of view of the judges, the ordered duration beyond April 12 is disproportionate.

"A period of validity of around two weeks, however, should be regarded as necessary in particular because the Easter holidays fell during this period and it was to be expected that valid data would only be available with a delay after the Easter holidays," said the court's statement.

A complaint can still be lodged with the Higher Administrative Court against the decision.
