Saarbrücken (dpa / lrs) - In Saarland, the seven-day incidence was over 100 for three days in a row, and the corona traffic light in the country jumps from "green" to "yellow".

As of Monday, April 12th, an extended test obligation will apply, as the Ministry of Health announced on Sunday evening.

The existing test obligation will be extended to all previously open areas - this also includes retail and body-friendly services.

In Saarland, according to the Ministry of Health (as of 4 p.m.), the health authorities registered a further 66 corona cases within one day on Sunday.

The nationwide incidence, i.e. the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within the past seven days, was 121.1 after 125.0 the previous day.

The number of deaths associated with the coronavirus remained at 947. A total of 33,614 infections have been detected across the country since the pandemic began.

Currently, 2204 people are currently actively infected.

169 patients were treated in hospitals, 53 of them in an intensive care unit.

On Tuesday, the Saarland began to exit the corona lockdown despite the increasing number of infections.

A whole range of facilities and houses was allowed to reopen, in addition to outdoor dining, cinemas, theaters, concert halls, fitness studios and tennis halls are also included.

If you want to use the offer, you usually need a negative corona rapid test, which must not be older than 24 hours.

In addition, up to ten people can meet outdoors, even at the beer table, if they have tested negative.

With the “Saarland Model”, the state government wants to give citizens more freedom again.

According to the government's decision, openings in this form are only allowed as long as the seven-day incidence is stable below 100.

If the incidence rises above 100 on three days, a traffic light system takes effect - with an expanded test obligation (yellow), including for retailers.

If the health care system is threatened with overload, the emergency brake (red) should be pulled: the openings are cashed in, followed by a lockdown.
