The United States does not hide its concern.
In an interview with NBC, the US Secretary of State said he was monitoring the situation between Russia and Ukraine very closely.
Anthony Blinken explains that there had not been so many
Russian troops
at the border since 2014. At the time, Russia annexed Crimea and supported an armed conflict in the Donbass region.

Today, the head of American diplomacy warns Moscow against any further aggression against its neighbor.
“
The question is whether Russia will continue to act aggressively and irresponsibly.
The president was clear
: there will be consequences,
”he said.
Anthony Blinken does not specify what would be the nature of Washington's response in the event of a
Russian
military operation
.
But he assured to be in permanent contact with the European allies of the United States on this issue.
He notably spoke on the phone Friday with his French and German counterparts who, according to him, share American concerns.
Turkey has also announced that Washington will send two warships to the Black Sea this week.
Information not confirmed by the Pentagon which contented itself with explaining that it was quite usual to send ships to the region.
