Bremen / Hanover / Göttingen (dpa / lni) - In Bremen and Lower Saxony, more than 200 people protested for stricter corona measures on Saturday.

In Göttingen, 20 to 50 people were on the street at a “Zero Covid” demo, said a police spokeswoman.

According to the police, 150 demonstrators met at the top in Hanover - all of them had therefore adhered to the hygiene and distance rules.

In Bremen an event started in the early afternoon on the market square.

According to the police, around 80 people took part.

Actions were planned in 30 cities in Germany and Austria.

Among other things, the participants demanded a three-week paid break and turned against the “workplace infection source”.

The profit interests of the companies would have to take second place to the health of the people, it said in the call for the rallies.

In Hanover, the participants advocated a pandemic policy that is based on scientific knowledge and puts people before corporate profits.

"It cannot be that private life is completely limited while there is still no home office obligation," it said.

The demonstrators advocate a limited but consistent lockdown.

They also assume that the restrictions could then be withdrawn more quickly, as co-organizer Sonja Radde said on Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (RBB).
