Frankfurt / Main (dpa) - Hesse's Prime Minister Volker Bouffier (CDU) has warned against the federal states going it alone in the procurement of corona vaccine.
The fact that Bavaria's Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) ordered 2.5 million doses of the Russian vaccine Sputnik V for his state "surprised" him, Bouffier told the "Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung".
"So far we have had an agreement: The federal government will procure the vaccine and distribute it to the states according to the number of inhabitants."
If Bavaria's example catches on, you have to talk about distribution, said Bouffier.
"I can't make it clear to anyone in Hesse that a country now has millions more vaccine doses, but is still getting the same nationwide."
