Bramsche (dpa / lni) - An attentive bank employee saved an 85-year-old in Bramsche from fraud.
As the police announced on Sunday, the senior citizen from Bramsche (Osnabrück district) had received a call from an alleged police officer.
He stated that the grandson of the 85-year-old had caused a fatal traffic accident and could only be saved from prison with a bail of 10,000 euros.
The elderly woman went to the bank by taxi on Friday afternoon to withdraw the sum.
An employee at the bank became suspicious and considered a possible fraud.
The police were called in and damage could be prevented.
