April 10, 2021 The optimal interval between doses is 21 days for Pfizer-BionTech's Comirnaty vaccine and 28 days for COVID-19 Moderna, respectively. However, should it be necessary to delay the second dose by a few days, in any case, it is not possible to exceed the interval of 42 days for both mRNA vaccines. It is reiterated that to obtain optimal protection it is necessary to complete the vaccination course with the second dose ".

This is what the AIFA Technical Scientific Commission affirms in the opinion that is attached to the new circular of the Ministry of Health 'Vaccination against Sars-CoV2'.
