Koblenz (AP) - According to the public prosecutor's office, a rape of a Muslim girl in a Catholic day care center in Koblenz made waves about half a year ago.

Because of the hostility that followed, 137 preliminary investigations have been initiated and some fines have already been imposed, as the Koblenz attorney general Jürgen Brauer told the German Press Agency.

The educator, who was falsely hostile, said he was unable to work and ended up in a psychiatric day clinic with depression.

In the autumn of 2020, a mother accused the Internet that her then four-year-old daughter had been raped in the St. Martin Catholic day care center on Pfaffendorfer Höhe.

Tens of thousands click on the video.

For the investigators, among other things, after gynecological examinations of the child on the alleged date of the crime and further analyzes, it is quickly clear: the allegations are not tenable.

Nevertheless, an international shit storm breaks over the daycare center, its only male educator at the time and the investigators themselves.

After death threats, the educator receives temporary police protection.

The kindergarten closes for two weeks.

In the video in Arabic with German subtitles, the mother spoke of her daughter being raped by several men, filmed group sex and beatings against children.

According to Brauer, no investigation proceedings have been initiated against the girl's parents for pretending to be a criminal offense.

"It must currently be assumed that the parents are convinced that their child has been abused," explains the attorney general.

«The parents have left Koblenz.

Her whereabouts are unknown. "

According to the police, the educator was first advised to change his name and move abroad.

He later suffered a heart attack, says the dpa educator.

Three more criminal charges with false allegations were filed against him by his parents.

“For example, I am supposed to have collected children with a mobile home and shot porn with them,” says the 44-year-old, who does not want to give his name to be on the safe side.

The operating company of the kindergarten, the Katholische KiTa gGmbH Koblenz, announced: "The employees have become more vigilant and sensitive due to the threats and the temporary day-care center closure."

After all, they gradually develop "a day-to-day work that is comparable to the time before the stressful events".

You would continue to be accompanied professionally.

Because of Corona, there are currently "also access restrictions for adults" in the daycare center.

Prosecutor General Brauer explains about the 137 cases of hostility, especially on the Internet, from defamation to public calls for murder: “In 30 cases we have applied for a penalty order, 10 of which have been legally concluded.

Most of the time fines of up to 100 daily rates were imposed / applied for. "

In another case, charges were brought; seven cases went to other German public prosecutors and one to authorities in Austria.

According to Brauer, 37 preliminary investigations were closed.

15 are still pending.

In 46 cases, no perpetrator could be identified.

"Whether and if so, which perpetrators come from the Islamist environment cannot be reliably assessed," adds the Attorney General.
