This is one of the compelling reasons for making a trip beyond 10 km: for the start of the Easter holidays, this weekend, many parents take the train to drop their children off with relatives.

Europe 1 took the train to La Rochelle, from which new families were getting off at each station on Saturday morning.

The holidays have officially started for everyone at the same time, and for two weeks, Covid-19 obliges.

What rests for parents, after a week of repeated remote school bugs ... But the problem of custody remains unresolved and many have chosen to drop their children off with relatives, one of the reasons for allowing them to go to more than 10 km from his home despite the confinement.

In the train going from Paris to La Rochelle on Saturday morning, Europe 1 saw new families get off at each station.

"Without the anguish of having to manage everything at the same time"

Parents often alone, surrounded by trampling children and littered with suitcases: it is easy to recognize these small convoys in a hurry to join Grandpa and Grandma.

"It's freedom," smiles Stéphanie, who makes the round trip to drop off her three daughters before returning to work from home.

"After a week like this, we will be able to do things by being more focused and less distracted by the children, without the anxiety of having to manage everything at the same time."

However, the respite will only last a few days: from next week, it will be necessary to come again to collect the children and find a solution of custody.

Those who could obviously took a vacation.

"We will be able to play in a garden, ball on the beach and we will be able to swim", enthuses Lucie's daughter, on her way to the beaches of Royan with her mother, on vacation.

"We have neoprene suits," said the mother, relieved to have been able to leave despite the restrictions.

"It is true that there have been a lot of canceled trains, the SNCF is doing a bit from day to day. We will be happy to arrive…."

All the more so as the family escapes the Rochelle rain: one more change and one hour in the car, and it will be the shore and the spray.
