Former President Lim Jong-seok's chief of staff has criticized the prosecution, saying, "It is unfair and cowardly," for prosecuting the prosecution against Lee Jin-seok, head of the Blue House Office of State Affairs, in connection with the alleged involvement in the election of the mayor of Ulsan.

In a Facebook post today (10th), Im insisted, "If the Blue House systematically intervened as the prosecution claimed, what authority could Lee Jin-seok, who was then secretary, be in charge of the affair?"

Chief Im Jeon said, "The prosecution himself tried to summon Lim Jong-suk as a suspect because he wanted'it's not that picture'. Then, it is reasonable to prosecute Lim Jong-seok or close the case if the charges were not found."

He said, "Even though the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and the Balanced Development Committee confiscated and searched for and summoned a number of public officials, they could not find any evidence, and Lee Jin-suk made him a victim only because he was in charge of social policy."

Mr. Lee is suspected of intervening in delaying the announcement of the preliminary feasibility study of the industrial accident mothers hospital, a key pledge of the mayor at the time of Kim Ki-hyun, who was challenging the Ulsan Mayor's re-election before the local election in 2018, when he was the Blue House Social Policy Secretary.

Lim Jeon, who was suspected of being involved in the'election intervention and the investigation into Hamyeong', was dismissed from charges due to insufficient evidence.

Lim said, "The so-called'Ulsan incident' is a clearly deliberately planned event, and the responsible party is former President Yoon Suk-yeol," he said. "I believe that Lee Jin-suk's innocence will be revealed through the trial."
