The leader of Ligue 1 Lille snatched the victory from Metz (2-0) at the opening of the 32nd day of the French championship and is temporarily detached six points from Paris SG who travels to Strasbourg on Saturday.
On the verge of rupture, the Lille were delivered by a powerful strike from their Turkish striker Burak Yilmaz (60th), launched by Renato Sanches, before taking cover at the end of the match after a strong shot from Zeki Çelik (89th).
Their goalkeeper Mike Maignan was again decisive by stopping a penalty (17th).
