Heilbronn (dpa) - Parallel to the start of the coalition negotiations with the CDU, the Southwest Greens will come together for a party congress at the weekend.

In Heilbronn, the regional association wants to draw up its list of candidates for the federal election.

Most of the meeting takes place online.

Applicants for the list places are free to choose whether to introduce themselves digitally or face-to-face.

A candidate for a fight is expected for position 1 on the list: the two members of the Bundestag, Franziska Brantner and Agnieszka Brugger, compete against each other.

The debate on the political situation and the coalition talks that began on Thursday will be particularly interesting.

Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (Greens) will explain to the grassroots why he wants to govern with the Christian Democrats again and why he decided against a traffic light with the SPD and FDP.

Not everyone in the eco party is happy with a new edition of Green-Black.

There was a scandal on Maundy Thursday because the state executive would rather have a traffic light than a continuation of the coalition with the CDU.

There was a trial of strength with Kretschmann.

In the end, however, the board approved with a two-thirds majority.
