The National Emergency Management Agency of St. Vincent and the Grenadines announced that an explosive eruption occurred at La Soufrière volcano in the northern part of the island on the morning of the 9th local time.



The eruption rises to a height of about 6 km, and you can see the black smoke rising in the footage shot locally.



No injuries have been identified so far, according to US media, but ash has fallen around the volcano.



In addition, due to the effects of volcanic ash, flights connecting St. Vincent and the Grenadines to another nearby island have been canceled.
