In December, the Swedish Transport Agency announced that for the second year in a row, they will refuse a permit for the student platform.

A good news for several bus companies that want to rent buses to partying students.

Nowhere in the country is the pressure as high as in Uppsala, according to one of the companies.

Rented a double decker

Linnea Andersson and Frida Hansson, in the clip above, have been involved in renting a bus to 30 of their classmates.

The double decker is equipped with a speaker system, an open roof, chairs and space for both sitting and dancing.

- As soon as they announced that the regular flatbed ride would be canceled, there was a lot of advertising on party buses and boats and stuff.

So we thought we could rent a bus, says Linnea Andersson.

Maximum eight people

Linnea and Frida are clear that they want to follow the restrictions, and plan to cancel the bus if the whole class can not join.

At the end of March, the Swedish Public Health Agency announced that the buses are covered by the Pandemic Act, which means that there can be a maximum of eight people.

But three bus companies, all of which declined to be interviewed, had a different view on the matter.

One of the companies was of the opinion that the buses are "regulated in the same way as other tourist buses", because they drive the students from place A to B.

The County Administrative Board in Uppsala hears - after coordination with other county administrative boards - from SVT Uppsala with an updated message:

- We will actively conduct supervision in order to prevent renting to more than 8 people.

How the operator chooses to name his business does not affect it.

The operators who do not follow the current regulations for a maximum of 8 participants risk a fine, says Kristina Jansson, County Administrative Board of Uppsala County.
