Specialized in maintaining order, the mobile gendarmerie seems to be the subject of a study for a change in its dress, as Europe 1 could see in a document dated Wednesday.

On Twitter, the first union of police officers was moved by one of the stated objectives of the new outfit.

At the beginning of the year, it was the national police which indicated that a change of uniform of its police officers was "under consideration".

Le

Canard Enchaîné

then assured that the Minister of the Interior, Gerald Darmanin, wanted this change to be made for "at the end of June at the latest".

And now, it is the mobile gendarmerie, specializing in the maintenance of order, which seems concerned by a similar project.

The project created a stir on the side of the police

Consulted by Europe 1, a document entitled "clothing file" and dated Wednesday April 7, presents what could be the "new mobile gendarmerie outfit 2021".

In this 16-page document, with many visuals, the objectives of this possible new outfit, 12 in number, are detailed.

Its first objective would thus be "to differentiate itself from the Internal Security Forces to avoid confusion, amalgamation", it is written in this document.

He reacted to the Union of Internal Security Executives, the first union of police officers, on Friday.

"Why mention that the objective of this new outfit of the @Gendarmerie mobile is to 'differentiate itself from the Internal Security Forces to avoid confusion, amalgamation'? Isn't GM part of the ISF?"

the union is surprised in a tweet.

Why mention that the objective of this new outfit of the @Gendarmerie mobile is to "differentiate itself from the Internal Security Forces to avoid confusion, amalgamation"?

Isn't GM one of the ISPs?

"Regain the confidence, the esteem of the public"

Several other objectives are mentioned in the document: "to be clearly identified by the public, the press, the media, other Units", to be "identifiable from afar" and "visible at night", "to increase the impact and notoriety of the Mobile Gendarmerie and more generally the gendarmes ", but also" to regain the confidence, the esteem of the public "or" to make "the outfit" more modern ".

At this stage, four color ranges are mentioned in the document for the new outfit: square gray, gray blue, bronze and ombre, as shown in the captures of the document pictured above.

It remains to be seen what will happen to this document.

For the police, Gérald Darmanin wanted, according to

Le Canard enchaîné

, that the agents could parade in their new uniform on July 14.
