"Many birch trees are already ready to bloom, and the warmth boosts even more catkins to bloom and release pollen," said Matthias Werchan from the German Pollen Information Service Foundation.
Although no peak values are to be expected yet, birch and ash pollen allergy sufferers should be prepared for a high level of exposure.
Especially in the lower regions of Bavaria, such as in the Danube region or in Munich, things could “get down to business”.

Incidentally, corona masks are an advantage for allergy sufferers, as they protect the mouth and nose.
“If the mask keeps viruses out, then of course no pollen can penetrate.
To do this, the mask should fit tightly on all sides, ”said Verkhan.
Air purifiers can also help.
In Franconia, it will be mostly cloudy on Saturday and it will rain occasionally, which will reduce the pollen count.
The rain doesn't stop until Sunday.
In southern Bavaria it remains mostly dry.
A blow dryer, which moves north over the Alps, provides the warmth after the cold front last week.
