Joan Josep Nuet

to eight months of disqualification from public office

for a crime of disobedience as a member of the

Parliamentary Board

during the Catalan independence challenge.

The presentation of the sentence has corresponded to the magistrate Andrés Martínez Arrieta, president of the Chamber that tried him.

In the sentence, the High Court considers Nuet the author of a crime of serious disobedience of articles 410.1 of the Penal Code and imposes the penalties of a fine of 4 months with a daily quota of 100 euros, with subsidiary personal responsibility of one day for every two unsatisfied quotas, as well as the special disqualification for the exercise of elective public positions at the state, regional or local level during the eight-month period.

In addition, the Chamber orders the deputy to pay the procedural costs incurred in this case.

During the oral hearing, the Office of the High Court Prosecutor had requested ten months of fine and one year and four months of disqualification for having voted as third secretary of the Table of the Parliament of Catalonia in the XI Legislature various resolutions in favor of independence despite the continuous warnings of the Constitutional Court.

At the trial, Nuet denied having disobeyed the court of guarantees when he made up to four requests as a member of the Parliamentary Board in relation to the different resolutions it processed on the
