A man was sentenced Wednesday by the criminal court of Béziers (Hérault) to three years in prison, for violence and threats against health professionals.

The charges against him took place on March 2, while he joined his wife and 3-year-old daughter in the hospital emergency room.

The child "had burned his hair and his case being deemed non-priority by the nursing staff, the family was asked to be patient", relates Raphaël Balland, the prosecutor of Béziers.

Displeased, the 31-year-old had threatened the nurse with death on several occasions, as well as one of his colleagues, who had come to his aid.

He denies death threats

The man had thrown a plexiglass, which served as protection against the Covid-19, and had been slightly the nurse.

He then returned home to Narbonne (Aude), before being arrested and placed in police custody a few days later.

The man, who admitted to behaving aggressively but denied threatening the nurse with death, has already sentenced 11 times.

He was in a state of recidivism, Wednesday, in court, after being sentenced in 2016 for acts of death threats and violence against a person holding public authority.
