The government has decided to keep the current social distancing stage, which is the second stage in the metropolitan area and the 1.5 stage in the non-metropolitan area, and the ban on meetings with more than five people for three more weeks.

In addition, measures to maximize the effectiveness of quarantine have been devised, and it has been decided to implement it with high intensity.

Prime Minister Jeong Sye-gyun presided over the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters meeting today (9th), and announced a plan to adjust the distance, saying, "The wave of the 4th wave is getting closer and stronger."

As a result, gatherings are prohibited for entertainment facilities in the metropolitan area and Busan area according to the principle set in step 2 of distance distancing.

The operating hours of singing practice centers, gyms, restaurants and cafes will remain the same for the time being, but may be shortened to 9:00 p.m. at any time depending on the spread of the infection.

In areas other than the metropolitan area, the 1.5 level will be maintained, but depending on the outbreak, local governments will decide to raise the level or take various measures to strengthen quarantine.

Prime Minister Jung also emphasized that it is mandatory to undergo a diagnostic test if there is a symptom of suspected COVID-19, and that until basic quarantine rules are established, we will respond with a zero-tolerance principle.

Prime Minister Chung said, "The government has been contemplating special measures to stably manage quarantine until most of the people participated in vaccinations," he said.
