Zwiesel (dpa / lby) - Issues relating to property tax will in future be dealt with in the Free State of Zwiesel in Lower Bavaria.

The first five employees in the new property tax office will start work on Monday, as the Ministry of Finance in Munich announced on Friday.

Organizationally, the new authority is assigned to the Zwiesel tax office and its Viechtach branch.

In the future, around 300 people will be involved in property tax at both locations.

The decision for the new office in Lower Bavaria was made in the course of the relocation of the authorities that began in 2015.

In this way, additional jobs are to be created in previously structurally weak regions.

According to the information, the "Digital Information Center Bavarian Property Tax" is to be set up in Zwiesel first, where citizens can obtain information about property tax in the future, for example via an information hotline and an Internet chat.

The hotline is scheduled to start in autumn 2021.

In Viechtach there is to be a central incoming processing office and a Bavaria-wide legal remedy office for the subject of property tax from 2022.

From 2025 onwards, the future Bavarian property tax law is to be implemented in Zwiesel.
