Los Angeles (AP) - Five years after the death of US pop star Prince, a previously unreleased album from 2010 is to come out of the artist's estate.

"Welcome 2 America" should be released on July 30th, as The Prince Estate and the Legacy Recordings label announced on Thursday.

The content of the twelve-song album is described as a “strong creative statement” by the artist.

Prince expressed his concerns, hopes and visions on issues such as political division and the fight against social injustice.

The track list includes songs like “Born 2 Die”, “Stand Up and B Strong” and “One Day We Will All B Free”.

In 2010 Prince had toured several US cities with the album, but the record was not released at the time.

The estate administration has already republished works such as "Purple Rain" from 1984 and the Prince album "1999" posthumously.

The singer is said to have left a lot of material in a vault in his studio that has not yet been released.

Prince had died of a pain medication overdose in April 2016 at his Paisley Park estate, Minneapolis.

Born in 1958 as Prince Roger Nelson, the musician achieved world fame in 1984 with the album "Purple Rain".
