A thousand employees of the social and medico-social sector demonstrated Thursday in Paris at the call of several unions, to demand the salary increase of 183 euros net per month granted to hospital workers under the "Ségur de la santé".

"It's hard for all, Ségur for all", "The account is not there, Ségur to swallow" or even "More Ségur, the better": the main expectations of the demonstrators were on all the signs.

A spectacular action led by the CGT-Spectacle to protest against the reform of unemployment insurance, supposed to come into force on July 1.

The event, organized by the CGT, FO and SUD social action federations, however, had as its object the fate of the hundreds of thousands of employees of private structures in the sector, who are mainly involved in the care of disabled people.

A mission launched at the end of 2020 by Prime Minister Jean Castex has so far not made it possible to reach an agreement with the unions, who criticize the executive for not including all the workforce in upgrading proposals.

The government, however, responded to one of their demands last week, by approving a branch agreement in home help, which should result in wage increases of 13 to 15% from October 1.
