Cologne (dpa) - In view of numerous postponements and a further increase in the number of corona infections, the Handball Bundesliga (HBL) wants to tighten its hygiene concept in the end of the season.
"We will increase the frequency of the PCR tests again and bring them closer to the competitions," said HBL managing director Frank Bohmann of the German press agency.
“We also want to tighten the documentation requirements.
Most players have been infected so far in private.
Knowing in which minute the player was with whom exactly can help to understand chains of infection even better. "
Because the location of the infection was sometimes difficult to determine in recent months, Bundesliga clubs had to be in quarantine with the entire team, even with only one corona case.
The stricter documentation requirements could help prevent this.
Despite the upcoming additional effort, the clubs agree on adapting the concept, said the 56-year-old.
The tightening is to be decided on next Wednesday in a further video conference of the club bosses.

This means that the clubs will have to test differently in the future.
So far, according to Bohmann, the hygiene concept stipulates that the results of the PCR tests must be available two days before a game.
In the near future, the clubs are to test even shorter before the match day, so that the test result is only available the day before the respective game.
