Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) - The Goetheturm, a popular excursion destination for many Frankfurters, is once again allowed to receive visitors - at least on the weekends.

After the wooden art construction had to be closed in the middle of the week for short-term maintenance work, visitors can now climb the tower from 8 a.m. until dark, said a spokeswoman for the environment department.

The visit is possible until 8 p.m. at the latest.

On weekdays, however, the tower remains closed.

The Goetheturm opens again for the first time this Saturday.

The current Corona hygiene rules should be observed.

The tower, which is more than 43 meters high, was rebuilt last year after the original wooden structure was burned in October 2017.
