April 08, 2021 Trial is underway in Minneapolis, Minnesota over the death of George Floyd, arrested on suspicion of selling a fake twenty dollar bill and dying of cardiorespiratory arrest.

According to the testimony of Dr. Martin Tobin, an expert in pulmonary medicine and intensive care, Floyd died from lack of oxygen as he was stuck face down on the sidewalk with his hands handcuffed behind him.

Former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin is being tried on the murder charge.

Dr. Tobin testified after reviewing medical records and explained that oxygen starvation caused brain damage, arrhythmia, and then cardiac arrest.

Floyd's chest, squeezed between the asphalt and the agent's knee, was unable to assimilate enough oxygen to allow him to breathe, while the cuffs did not allow his arms to move sideways to take in more oxygen.

While the defense continued to argue that Floyd died from the presence of drugs and other medicines in his body, already compromised by long addiction to drugs.

George Clooney also intervened at the trial via an email sent to the victim's lawyer.

The actor said that if it is true that Floyd died of drugs and not of suffocation, the former policeman would have to undergo the same 'treatment', to prove the validity of what he claims.

"Lawyer Crump - wrote Clooney - you should tell them that if Derek Chauvin is so sure of what he says, he should voluntarily lie down on the floor and let someone put his knee on his neck for nine minutes and 29 seconds, and prove that he can survive. . Experts - continues the actor - believe that on average a human being cannot survive without oxygen for 30 to 90 seconds, while George Floyd was left without oxygen for 429 seconds ".

Already a year ago the actor took a stand after Floyd's death, calling racism in the US "our pandemic".

"It infects us all - he wrote - and in four hundred years we have not yet found a vaccine".
