09 April 2021 Health Minister Roberto Speranza confirms, without mentioning them, that the government could trigger some reopenings "in the coming weeks".

And he says, speaking at the 'Reopen Italy' event organized by the Brothers of Italy in the Senate: "In the coming weeks there are the conditions so that, in a cross between the effects of the measures taken and the acceleration of vaccinations, the conditions can be created, in a gradual path, taking one step at a time, to safely have a season that is profoundly different from the past ".

"Gradual path of safe reopening"

"As long as we do not have a sufficient number of vaccinations the restrictive measures remain", the minister specified.

"We still have a complicated environment where we have over 3,600 ICU beds," he said.

"Until we have a very large hold on the impact of vaccinations it is clear that part of the restrictive measures will have to be imagined that they continue to accompany this transition period," he reiterated.

"In the coming weeks, I believe the conditions are in place for an acceleration in the vaccination campaign" he added.



 "I believe that in the next few weeks the conditions can be created for a gradual, cautious path, which, in safety, will lead us to a different season from the past one.
