Duisburg (dpa / lnw) - The currently fully closed Autobahn 59 in Duisburg should be accessible again in both directions at the end of the Easter holidays next Monday.

A 15 to 20 centimeter wide gap had opened up on a bridge near the Wanheimerort exit.

This will now be temporarily covered with metal plates, said Autobahn spokesman Tobias Zoporowski on Friday.

The bridge is then only passable at the point at 40 km / h.

The search for the cause of the damage continues.

Experts should inspect the bridge this Friday.

"Statically, the building is absolutely safe and harmless," said the spokesman.

Extensive repairs would then be necessary at this point later.
