The volunteer fire brigades in Hamburg are starting a city-wide membership advertising campaign.
The fire brigade announced on Thursday that the 86 volunteer fire brigades should be made even more visible in the Hamburg cityscape.
Interior Senator Andy Grote (SPD) said: "The rescuers of the volunteer fire brigades are the heroes of our neighborhood".
Although the number of members has gradually increased in recent years, the fire brigade wants to be prepared for the future at an early stage, said the volunteer fire brigade.
Their tasks cover a broad spectrum, from fire fighting to first aid by emergency services to disaster control.
Thus, the currently 2659 members of the Hamburg volunteer fire brigade are an indispensable partner.
