And she is not alone in that picture, several retailers that SVT Nyheter Småland spoke to in Växjö say that sales have gone well during the pandemic year and that many customers appreciate shopping outside, where it is easier to keep their distance.

When SVT asks market traders in Tranås in Jönköping County, they give the same picture as the traders in Växjö.

According to Växjö municipality, no signs have been seen that the market trade would be negatively affected.

Since 2019, three of the regular market traders have resigned - but that should not have anything to do with the pandemic.

At the same time, the trade association Marknadsarrangörers förening warns that many companies risk collapsing, when many markets around Sweden close down or cancel.
