According to the manufacturer Alstom, this order for 12 hydrogen trains is a first and a "

historic step in sustainable mobility

".

After the Corail and TGV electric trains, here is the Régiolis for the SNCF and Coradia Polyvalent for Alstom.

This new two-mode train, without polluting emissions, runs on hydrogen and electricity.

With a range of 600 kilometers, it produces electricity while driving thanks to a fuel cell powered by a hydrogen tank.

And when it rolls on an electrified track, it can disengage and go under catenary.
