Berlin (dpa / bb) - The Berlin Senate is advising today on how to proceed in the corona pandemic.

Last but not least, the question of how the schools will continue after the end of the Easter holidays on Monday plays a role.

For some time now, most students have been taking alternating classes in small groups - they take turns studying at school or at home.

Only students in grades seven to nine are still completely at home.

It remains to be seen whether they will now have the prospect of returning.

There are different opinions on this in the red-red-green coalition.

Because the infection process, which has worsened not least because of virus mutations, does not stop at schools.

And so the GEW trade union and the German Association of Philologists are demanding that only teachers who have been vaccinated against Corona should teach in schools.

In addition, both associations consider a continuation of face-to-face teaching in the current form no longer justifiable due to the third corona wave.

Meanwhile, the daycare centers in Berlin will be formally closed again from Thursday due to Corona.

However, they should offer emergency care for children from families who are urgently dependent on it and in which at least one parent works in a particularly important, so-called system-relevant occupation.

Single parents who cannot organize any other childcare option and parents whose children require childcare for special educational reasons should also be able to take advantage of the offer.

There was a similar regulation before, until childcare was restarted in March.
