The Uppsala Region has made some of its own decisions, in order to have the best possible effect on the collective vaccination, the director of health and medical care Mikael Köhler announced at Thursday's press conference.

Residents who tested positive for covid-19 with PCR are offered vaccination no earlier than 6 months after testing positive.

According to the Uppsala Region, two doses are not needed because one dose gives those who have been positive as good protection against the disease as others receive after two doses.

The exceptions to the rule are people who have a pronounced weakened immune system due to illness or drug treatment.

- We are safe and secure that this works, says Mikael Köhler.

Residents who tested positive for covid-19 are only offered one dose during the ongoing vaccination phase.

- How it will be in the long term, we will follow up, there may be new information.
