Berlin (dpa) - The radio presenter and internationally successful DJ Paul van Dyk is now a member of the FDP after his criticism of the Corona policy.

The party confirmed the entry of the artist to the German Press Agency, who has thus become one of currently around 67,000 Free Democrats in Germany.

Accompanied by the debate about basic rights during the corona pandemic, the FDP is currently recording an increase in members according to its own information.

“Many citizens have lost their perspective, their social environment.

And it's about the entire culture, art and event area, ”van Dyk said in February in a podcast conversation with FDP boss Christian Lindner.

He is now happy: "Paul van Dyks membership in the Free Democrats is a support for our policy of freedom and responsibility, which protects civil rights in the fight against pandemics and does not forget the social consequences of the standstill."
