Dresden (dpa / sn) - The mobile vaccination teams of the German Red Cross (DRK), the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund, the Johanniter of the Malteser Hilfsdienst and the Bundeswehr have so far accompanied 202 887 corona vaccinations in Saxony.

The regional association of the DRK announced on Thursday in Dresden.

According to the information, the mobile teams are coordinated via the 13 Saxon vaccination centers, which together have already administered 669 579 first and second vaccinations against the corona virus.

The Saxon Ministry of Social Affairs has commissioned the German Red Cross in Saxony for the overall organization.

According to 33 teams from the aid organizations, the Bundeswehr and in coordination with the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians have been on the road since December.

According to the Saxon priority plan, they first immunized residents of inpatient nursing homes and their staff.

In the meantime, the teams also travel to institutions of the judiciary or integration assistance, shelters for the homeless and support communities and municipalities with vaccination on site.

Specifically, 2400 first and second vaccination missions have been carried out in over 1350 facilities so far, it said.

85,320 people have already received their second vaccination.
