Darmstadt (dpa / lhe) - A 22-year-old man was arrested after an attack on a shopping market in Darmstadt.
He was brought into custody on Thursday, said police and prosecutors.
He is being investigated for attempted blackmail.
On Wednesday lunchtime he demanded money from a cashier in the market and threatened her with violence, but she refused to hand it over.
The man walked away but came back shortly after and was arrested by the police.
The officers found sweets that he is said to have stolen from him.
