Emmanuel Macron initiated a large-scale reform of the senior civil service.

With, as a cornerstone of this remodeling, the creation of a Public Service Institute (ISP), which will eventually replace the prestigious Normal School of Administration (ENA).

The ENA is no longer, here is the ISP.

Thursday, Emmanuel Macron detailed to the "managers of the public service", that is to say the 200 to 500 most senior French officials, his plan to reform the senior civil service.

The most salient element of this reform is the abolition of the Normal Administration School (ENA).

The famous institution, from which the Head of State himself is from, will be replaced by a new Public Service Institute (ISP), which the President of the Republic wishes to see born in 2022, according to our colleagues at franceinfo.

New candidates

Emmanuel Macron wishes to open up to new candidates the major bodies of the State, which today administer the country, the best known of which are the Inspectorate of Finance, the Council of State or the Court of Auditors.

The head of state wants to attract more varied profiles from universities and more only from Sciences Po.

For training, a new common core will be provided to all senior officials, to confront them with new realities in the field: secularism, poverty, ecology, scientific discourse, etc.
