Kutzleben (dpa / th) - The asparagus farm Kutzleben could take a further step out of insolvency on its own at the same time as the start of the harvest.

After three financially difficult years and problems caused by the Corona crisis, the company in the Unstrut-Hainich district managed to develop a concept for the realignment, said managing director Jan-Niclas Imholze.

Erfurt lawyer Rolf Rombach, who has been accompanying the asparagus farm since 2020, said that a buyer would take over fixed assets from the bankruptcy estate and prepare for the 2021 harvest.

Should the creditors' meeting approve this purchase, the bankruptcy proceedings have not yet been concluded, but the asparagus harvest will be secured for the next few years.

With a harvest area of around 160 hectares, Kutzleben is one of the largest asparagus producers in Thuringia.

The asparagus farm harvests up to 900 tons of these precious vegetables every year.

In addition to asparagus, strawberries and rhubarb are grown.
