China News Service, April 8 According to the website of the Chinese Embassy in the Kingdom of Cambodia, on the 8th, the spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia answered questions from reporters on the joint rescue of two Chinese citizens illegally detained by China and Cambodia.

A reporter asked that recently, under the coordination and promotion of the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, the Cambodian police successfully rescued two Chinese citizens who were illegally detained and arrested a number of Chinese criminal suspects. Please tell us more about the case.

The spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia stated that according to the two Chinese citizens who were rescued, they believed the so-called "high-paying" job advertisements earlier this year and joined an illegal online gambling group in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and worked under surveillance all day long.

When they filed a request for resignation, the online gambling group illegally detained them and asked them to pay a high amount of "compensation."

During the period, the two people were tortured many times and suffered various tortures.

The spokesperson said that in early March, after the embassy learned of this information, it coordinated with the domestic police to carry out operations by the Cambodian police, successfully rescuing two victims and arresting a number of Chinese criminal suspects at the same time.

At present, the two rescued persons have returned to China, and relevant departments will deal with their overseas participation in online gambling in accordance with the law.

The Cambodian police have handed over the arrested criminal suspects to the judicial department and launched investigations into the crimes of relevant online gambling dens.

The Chinese Embassy in Cambodia once again reminded the broad masses of compatriots, especially young compatriots, not to believe in the "high-paying" lies made by foreign gambling groups. Once they stray into the "trap" laid by criminal gangs, they will surely become "lambs" at their disposal.

At the same time, I also advise those criminals who are still engaged in online gambling in Cambodia, if they do not rein in the precipice, they will eventually be punished by law.
