Wiesbaden (dpa) - According to Hesse's Prime Minister Volker Bouffier (CDU), the corona pandemic can only be successfully fought if the federal government and the states act together.

With a view to a possible amendment to the Federal Infection Protection Act and more federal competencies, he said that we should first agree on which things should be regulated nationwide.

At best, it could be a frame.

This was announced by his spokesman in Wiesbaden.

The explanations of the corona measures would still lie with the federal states.

A move by CDU members of the Bundestag Norbert Röttgen, Johann Wadephul and Yvonne Magwas envisages "giving the federal government (in addition) the same scope for action as the federal states, namely to ensure the implementation of the national goals of the Infection Protection Act by means of a statutory instrument".

The three CDU parliamentarians made this proposal in an email to other members of the Union parliamentary group.

The German press agency in Berlin has received the mail that was first reported by «Bild».
