Munich (AP) - Jérôme Boateng does not receive a new contract with FC Bayern Munich and has to leave the soccer record champions in the summer.
"That was a joint decision of the club management," said Bayern sports director Hasan Salihamidzic on Wednesday on the pay TV broadcaster Sky.
"I explained that to Jérôme, he understood that too," added Salihamidzic.
The 32-year-old Boateng, whose contract expires on June 30, moved from Manchester City to Munich in the summer of 2011.
He was part of the Bayern team for ten years and won the Champions League with them in 2013 and 2020.
