Munich (AP) - FC Bayern is threatened with defending its title in the Champions League.

277 days after the triumph of Lisbon, the German soccer record champions conceded a painful 2: 3 (1: 2) in the explosive reunion with Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-final first leg.

Lewandowski substitute Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (37th minute) and Thomas Müller (60th) only used two of the numerous possibilities of the superior Munich team.

The PSG star ensemble, on the other hand, presented itself much more efficiently than in the final in August when Mbappé (3rd / 68th) and Marquinhos (28th) scored.

In the second leg on April 13th in Paris, FC Bayern has to do a premier class feat to make it to the semi-finals against Manchester City or Borussia Dortmund.

This is all the more difficult for Munich because they have two more injuries to complain about after Robert Lewandowski's knee injury and Serge Gnabry's positive corona test.

Leon Goretzka (33rd) and Niklas Süle (42nd) had to get out early in the snowstorm in Munich.

"We scored the goals at a good time," said PSG professional Julian Draxler on the pay TV broadcaster Sky.

The national player also admitted: "We ran after a lot."

The turbulent game was marked by the early horror of Mbappé's quick lead.

After a counterattack, the French world champion used the template from Neymar, who crossed over to his strike partner at the right moment.

Mbappé pushed the ball - unlike in the final in Lisbon - through the legs of the then insurmountable newcomer into the net.

"He had no way to react," said national coach Joachim Loew in a half-time interview with the pay-TV broadcaster Sky.

The goal was particularly annoying for Bayern because they had just missed a great opportunity themselves.

Choupo-Moting narrowly failed with an aluminum hit: Last year's Paris professional hit the crossbar with his head after a corner.

Bayern increased the pressure after the 0-1.

The hosts dominated the game with the same starting line-up that last won the top game against RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga.

They were more aggressive and kept the PSG defensive busy.

But without Lewandowski there is also a lack of punch.

The team of coach Mauricio Pochettino, the successor to Thomas Tuchel, who was dismissed in December, came into trouble several times.

And then struck again as cold as ice.

The situation seemed resolved when Neymar did the preparatory work for the second time.

The Brazilian star striker lifted the ball with a long pass over the advancing Bayern defense and found a taker in Marquinhos.

The captain kept his nerve and pushed past the new man into the corner.

The goalscorer then left the field injured and was replaced by Ander Herrera, and left-back Alphonso Davies replaced the ailing Leon Goretzka.

Despite the reorganization of the defensive, Bayern quickly scored a goal with David Alaba, who had advanced into midfield.

A cross from Benjamin Pavard headed Choupo-Moting into the mesh.

Then Flick had to rebuild again.

Jérôme Boateng, who does not receive a new contract, came on for the injured Süle.

"That was a joint decision of the club management," said sports director Hasan Salihamidzic before the kick-off on the pay-TV broadcaster Sky: "I explained that to Jérôme, he understood that too."

While Paris was mercilessly effective in the first half and used the few chances ice cold, Neymar missed seven minutes after the break and failed to Neuer.

Fortunately for Bayern, who kept pressing.

The fighting hosts were rewarded after a free kick.

Müller headed Joshua Kimmich's submission past the strong PSG goalkeeper Keylor Navas into the net.

But Paris did not give up and quickly hit back.

Mbappé danced Boateng, shot through the legs of the Bayern defender to take the lead again and thus ensured a good starting position for PSG in the second leg.
