Luckenwalde (dpa / bb) - Unknown perpetrators have carried out an attack with a foul-smelling liquid on the public order office in Luckenwalde (Teltow-Fläming).

Police Department West reported that two employees noticed a pungent smell in the entrance area of ​​the administration building on Thursday morning and alerted the police.

Because the two women felt discomfort and difficulty breathing shortly afterwards, they were taken to a hospital for an outpatient examination.

According to the investigators' first findings, unknown perpetrators could have smeared a foul-smelling substance in the area of ​​the entrance gates and on the entrance stairs.

A little later it was found that the door of a vehicle belonging to the city administration near the town hall was probably smeared with the same substance.

After an initial check by the fire brigade, it could be butyric acid, the police reported.

Investigations into negligent bodily harm and property damage have started.
