The bus drivers in Södertälje warned last winter that the buses were too cold, something the trade union municipality believes has been going on for several years.

After an unannounced inspection in Södertälje, it turned out that the majority of the buses had too low a temperature.

After the alarms, the bus company Nobina developed measures to access the problem.

But now the Swedish Work Environment Authority has also decided to ban cold buses from driving.

The ban means that buses may not be driven if they do not have an air temperature of at least 5 plus degrees at the driver's seat.

This is because cold buses increase the risk of accidents as it can impair the drivers' ability to concentrate, according to the Swedish Work Environment Authority.

The ban will take effect from November this year.
