A gendarme injured a man with his service weapon Tuesday evening in the Oise after the break-in at his home of two men, one of whom had previously uttered threats against him, we learned from parquet.

At around 10 p.m., two men broke into the service accommodation of this couple of gendarmes, which is outside the military compound of the barracks where they are stationed.

"The two gendarmes were at the time of the facts in the room of their home and, alerted by the break-in of the front door, immediately called the 17th," said Caroline Tharot, public prosecutor of Beauvais.

The gendarme then used his weapon against one of the attackers, injuring him, ”she continued.

The latter's vital prognosis is not engaged.

He was taken to hospital.

The second attacker was taken into custody for home invasion, aggravated violence and theft.

The Beauvais prosecutor's office said that the quality of gendarmes was known to at least one of the intruders.

An investigation is underway to determine the more precise circumstances of these events.
